The Healey Dell Heritage Centre is a great starting point for exploration and includes permanent heritage information on display all year round. The venue is full of character and an Edwardian themed charm on the banks of the Spodden river surrounded by a stunning and scenic natural setting. The Heritage Centre aims to bring out the hidden history of Healey Dell’s past. There is a wealth of information on display in this Centre on history, local wildlife, trees and plants. You will also find very interesting information on the munitions factory which remains to this day. Here there is information on the Rochdale to Bacup Lancashire Railway its formation and its demise and what remains of the old railway line and its hidden history.
The Healey Dell Heritage Centre is managed and self-funded by the Healey Dell Tea Rooms and a small group of volunteers. Both the Rochdale and Rossendale council lend their support periodically.
